Summary Our worst year so far. It was a particularly dreary summer, with our worst ever May (and the first time under 200kWh for that month) and only June even approaching a normal result; most months were near the bottom of the ranking table, as at right. The weather was notable for the lack of sunny runs; usually there are a couple of periods when we get a week or so of continual sunshine, but in 2024 we just had the occasional single sunny day, then the gloom returned. In fact, we only had 5 days over 12kWh -- 2023, an average year, had 11 -- and no days over 13kWh. It was also a notably cool year, and the first time we haven't reached 30°C at some point (weather records started in 2010). We had a single zero-watt day on 23 November, when it snowed overnight -- the snow rapidly thawed in the morning, but the rest of the day was extremely dark. |
