Things You Don’t Often See
Leap Day
It was 20 years ago today
That Admin2 got down on knees to say
‘Will you marry me, yea or nay?’
And Admin1 said ‘Er…OK.’
Rubbish!

OMG just heard the exit poll.
Admin2 is reading The Ashes of London by Andrew Taylor. Admin1 is reading The Flood by Kristina Ohlsson. Disasters all round. Admin2 also went to Quantum Physics in the Macro World but had to leave at an indeterminate moment because Admin1 was locked out and couldn’t tunnel in.
Belling the Cat
Hiding in the Wood
Ginger Snap
Blooming Colourful

Admin2 found this fine collection of fake flowers while out leafletting. Admin1 is rewatching Fringe and reading The Disappeared by Ali Harper, which had a preposterous plot but was made immensely readable by being set in all the parts of Leeds — and even the same streets — where we both used to live (Hyde Park, Woodhouse, Burley Park etc). Admin2 tried reading The Quaker by Liam McIlvanney but couldn’t get into it, and is now reading Lagoon by Nnedi Okorafor; shape-shifting aliens invade Lagos.
Meet Grimly Darkwood

This is Grimly Darkwood, author of The Shop on Peculiar Hill, a rollicking good read for children everywhere [will this do?]
Admin1 is reading Red Moon by Kim Stanley Robinson. Admin2 is reading Shatter by Michael Robotham, which was disturbing but compulsive.

A Horse with No Name
Reflecting

Walls and fences reflected in a car.

Happy Birthday Guida
HallowEEEEEn
OOOOOOps
The Unlucky Lottery

Some people just can’t win.
Admin1 is reading Footfall by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle. Admin2 is once again trying to read Shark by Will Self: Gravity’s Rainbow meets Finnegans Wake and goes on an epic drug-fuelled ramble for a 466-page … paragraph. We are watching Dicte and drinking Sumatran Organic & Fairtrade.
Take Five

Admin2 found a fiver on a wall and took note.
Admin1 is reading Before the Fall by Noah Hawley, writer of the Fargo TV series; well-written and engrossing. Admin2 is reading Buried Lies by Kristina Ohlsson which was endless.
