Merry Xmas Everybody

Chicken stuffed with duck, turkey, goose and pork, not to mention fruit.
Admin2 is reading Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins (thx Admin1). Admin1 is reading The Dead Zone by Stephen King.
We watched Archangel (thx Admin2) which had a seasonal title, lots of snow, excellent and ugly actors and an unlikely plot; Robert Harris’ book made it seem a lot more plausible.
Coffee of de day: Jamaica Blue Mountain (thx again, Admin2! xxx); actually a bit weak for our palates; will try a different grind.

Dish of the Day: Meat Pudding

A new addition to our repertoire but quite tasty.
Admin2 is reading Heat Wave by Penelope Lively, a novel in which all the characters work in the publishing industry, and which uses the same time-switching tricks as Station Eleven, but concerning a divorce rather than a global apocalyse.
We scored 8.5 on the Guardian Weekend quiz.

Eat Your Heart Out

Our heart-shaped Valentine cake got eaten before it could be photographed and the leftovers got turned into an unrepeatable trifle with leftover blood orange jelly and leftover Pancake Day cream.
Admin2 is reading The Mermaids Singing by Val McDermid.
We scored 4 in the Guardian Weekend quiz. Boo!

Merry Xmas Everybody!

Roast beef, roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing balls, carrots, peas, purple sprouts (which turned green when cooked) and gravy. Yums! We watched The Code which was great till it ended in a rush in a plethora of loose ends and implausibilities. Coffee of the day: Jailbreak – citrussy with a kick.
