Sweet Seventeen

Admin 1+2’s wedding anniversary: our furniture wedding, hence the allen keys and spirit level in the foreground and the room divider under construction in the background, and the trifle recycled from Admin1’s birthday cake. Seventeen years of food and books and weather and love.

Happy Birthday Gez

Happy birthday, Easter and Passover to the best woman in the world.
Admin2 is reading The Ninth Grave by Stefan Ahnhem: a tricky problem for the maritally challenged father of a rebellious teenager Fabian Risk: three serial killers in two countries with the Israelis pulling some strings (careful now).
We scored an appalling 6 on the GWQ.

Cakes

Admin1 baked all these cakes to use up some leftover icing. Thx to Auds for the multiple sprinkles.
Admin1 is reading The Shadow District by Arnaldur Indridason — a multigenerational crime story, with added Icelandic folklore. Admin2 is reading Three Days and a Life by Pierre Lemaitre: guilt and shame upstaged and covered up by storms Lothar and Martin — for a good many years.
Khofi ya tsiku: Zambian: khofi pakhomo.

Eat Your Heart Out

Our heart-shaped Valentine cake got eaten before it could be photographed and the leftovers got turned into an unrepeatable trifle with leftover blood orange jelly and leftover Pancake Day cream.
Admin2 is reading The Mermaids Singing by Val McDermid.
We scored 4 in the Guardian Weekend quiz. Boo!
