Well well…
A1 is rereading Black Summer by MW Craven. We are watching Dept Q.
A2 took a photo of herself in the steamy bathroom mirror, drew a copy of the photo at art school and added a frosted glass filter to preserve her decency and disguise her poor drawing skills.
A1 is rereading The Curator by MW Craven. A2 is rereading Flesh Wounds by Chris Brookmyre.
Eid mubarak everybody!
Yesterday A2 spotted a splendid silver snail with a golden shell but the day was so dull and dark that the photo came out blurred, so here is a foil re-creation embellished with a pretty flowery frame by our resourceful £2 camera.
A1 is rereading Road Closed by Leigh Russell. A2 is reading Master Georgie by Beryl Bainbridge; a bunch of Liverpool low-lifes go to the bloody Crimean War.
It’s Booktally Day! To celebrate, here is a childhood drawing of our old cat Mogadishu by the inestimable Gez, still an artist, which has hung on our wall for 30+ years but is seldom seen because it is hemmed in by bookshelves. This year we have read 282 books between us, bringing the total to 2879.
Today A2 is reading This Is Going to Hurt by Adam Kay, the diary of a gynaecologist. It is laugh-out-loud funny which does not surprise me because last time I saw a gynaecologist I came out in stitches, but not wet-yourself funny, because that would require intervention by a gynaecologist.
